Qualifications
- MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) – A 5–6-year medical degree from a recognized university.
- Internship & Community Service – Two years of compulsory medical training.
- MMed (Master of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology) OR FCOG (Fellowship of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa) – A 4-year specialized training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- HPCSA Registration – The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) must approve the practitioner to practice as a specialist.
